1 ½ lb of ground round
½ lb of HOT Italian sausage
1 diced onion
Add the following spices in equal parts:
Marjoram Flakes, Black Pepper, Lemon Pepper, Garlic
Powder or Salt, Ground Red Pepper, and Dill.
Put ground round, HOT Italian sausage, onion, and eggs in a bowl.
Cover contents with above spices in equal parts. Basically put enough
of each to cover top layer of mixture. Don't be shy and put enough in.
Mix together thoroughly, so that their is no more egg present, and you
can no longer distinguish between the beef & the sausage. Ideally you
will see spice mixed throughout the meat. Then do another layer of
spices, except for the dill. Only one layer of dill is plenty. Then
mix, and make into 1/3lb burgers. Usually, you grab enough to fit in
the palm of your hand and roll it like a giant meatball. Of course
you flatten it to ½" or 3/4" patty.
As far as what we had at Z's house, just take away the HOT Italian
sausage, lemon pepper, & dill and it is the same recipe.
