You can drop her a line here. Michele Kruegel

When were you born? Where?

Mischief Night or Devil’s night depending on where you’re from. If that doesn’t mean anything, 10/30/71 in northern Jersey.

What is the 1st thing you want to do when you get home from work or when you wake up on the weekends?

I wouldn’t say that I’d “want” to do this, my cats don’t give me a choice. I feed them first thing in the morning, and right when I walk
in the door after work.

Who would you like to pattern yourself after?

There are many people I admire, so if I do pattern myself after others, there are too many for me to figure it out.

What is your favorite vacation spot?

Stehekin, WA. on lake Chelan. You can only get there by foot, boat, or helicopter. I’d also add Wuppertal, Germany – because they have the only Schwebebahn in the world. And I have family there. Lastly, I’ve heard great things about Iceland and can’t wait to go, but I guess it’s not a favorite until I’ve been there.

If you could get paid the same amount of $ at your current job and do anything, what would it be?

I’d be a cartoonist and children’s book illustrator. And I’d leave myself plenty of time to go out for lunch with friends!!!

If you found $200 in the trash and you had to spend it that day, what would you do with it?

I’d put it towards some Armstrong tile for our mudroom floor today. Or Interface Flor carpet tiles for our basement. If I didn’t have a home to sink money into, I might treat myself to a really nice trip to a spa.

What kind of music you like the most and why?

My favorite band is Luna. In terms of genre – as long as it’s got a good beat, or quirky lyrics I’m sold. Tend to dislike heavy metal and at one point I would have said country, but that’s been growing on me – maybe it was my trip to Texas last fall.

Who have you been most influenced by and why?

Mr. Doherty – one armed 7th grade english teacher who always shared his Velemints. Mr. Turbiville - 12th grade english teacher who encouraged me watch the movie Deer Hunter. AND my G-ma, who’s the best grandmother around!!!

What makes you cry?

Hate to say this, but pretty much anything.

What is your favorite town or state in the United States?

Marfa, Texas. Lincoln and I eloped there last October and were married by Justice of the Peace Cinderella Guevera. It’s surprisingly fun and party for such a small town in the middle of nowhere!

What do you usually eat for dinner?

I can eat salad all day long, so salad’s usually part of dinner. Other than that, we mix it up.

What is your favorite website?

Work – http://www.commarts.com

Fun: http://www.jotto.com/bubblesoap/playground.html And http://www.giantkid.net/indexKill.html
News: http://www.salon.com/

If you had to hear 1 album for the rest of your life what would it be?

Luna “Live” – it’s got a nice mix of songs from most of their albums. That way I wouldn’t have to pick just one.

What do you do for $?

Web design. Occasionally illustration, but not often enough.

What do you find attractive in the opposite sex?

Funny, smart, strong hands, strong legs, and dark hair – or Lincoln!!

Dogs or cats?

Always thought I was a dog person. Certainly wasn’t big on cats till Pele was a stray at the Seattle Zoo and Pobo followed us home. They’re more like dogs than most cats I’ve known.

What is your favorite sports team?

Mets, Jets and Nets!! Since moving to Chicago I’ve added the Bears, Cubs and Soxs (although they don’t sound as good together as those Jersey/NY teams).

You got any Tattoos?

One at the base of my neck/top of my back. I designed it in college and people always ask me what it is – before you ask – it’s a woman standing on an earth looking towards the sky. I still LOVE it!

Do you use styling products in your hair?

Too much work – don’t use anything, rarely even a comb.

What is your favorite cartoon character?

Hobbs, of Calvin and Hobbs and I can’t leave out Bloom County’s Opus

Got any nick-names? What do they mean or how did you get them?

As a kid, I always wanted a cool nickname. Not many good ones for Michele (people have tried Mich-Mich or Cheley – UGHHHH). My family calls me Chele. My old boss in Seattle started calling me just M (I think it was initiated as a time saving tactic – instead of spelling out Michele in every email, she’d just write M). Kind of caught on, and even though it’s just the letter M, I like it!

What is your salad dressing of choice?

Annie’s Shiitake and Sesame dressing. Any homemade vinaigrettes. And Blue cheese!!

What is your favorite fast food place? What do you order there?

Burger King. Junior Whopper with Cheese.

What is your favorite booze beverage?

That’s easy – a Gin and Tonic with extra lime!!

What is the one thing people say about you the most?

That I’ve got a big smile.

What do you think people say are some of your most virtuous qualities?

Warm, outgoing, kind of goofy, can read people really well, and get along with almost everyone.

What do you think people say are some of your vices?

I talk too much, my stories are WAY tooo long (I get that from my Mom’s side of the family).

What is your biggest pet peeve?

When my freshly washed hair smells like smoke.
