Updated: 9/25/07 Click here for Zbonia archive Words My cat died yesterday. Here is a little memorial I posted on drodd: Twelve years ago I was a Junior at college. I was 20 years old, had long hair, worked at the campus radio station while going to college. Twelve years ago I got Schmoopie. She and I have been through a lot together. It is hard to even think back to all the changes that have happened in my life since then. I always got a strange sense of comfort saying bye to her as I left, knowing that she would be there at the door when I got back home. Sadly today Schmoopie Paper died. She had either an allergic reaction or a heartworm that seriously affected her breathing. Schmoop didnt respond when the vet put in breathing tube but her heart stopped. It is real sad but she truly had a great life and was spoiled more than any animal probably should be. The past couple years have been tough since she came down with a hyperthyroid condition but she never was in really any pain until really the last day of her life. I will always miss her and remember her but mostly I will look back at all the exciting changes that have happened in my life during her 12 years and be happy knowing I had her during all those memories. The saddest part is that Schmoopie never did get to see the Cubs in the World Series - oh well. In lieu of flowers, I ask that you just pet your cat or dog for me.   Email Attachment of the Week Joke of the Week Seems an elderly gentleman had serious hearing problems for a number of years. He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100%. The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said, "Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be really pleased you can hear again." To which the gentleman said, "Oh, I haven't told my family yet. I just sit around and listen to the conversations. I've changed my will five times!"
