The Story
Z-Ball was erected in Breckenridge Colorado
on Feb. 9th, 2003. We wanted to play a drinking game but the cards we
found in our room were crappy and we only had 42 of them and we bought
cans so had no bottle caps for caps and we were worried about breaking
cups with Quarters so I came up with Z ball. I found a basket, a puzzle,
5 pennies, and 2 dimes and Z-Ball was born.
The Ingredients

basket (colander) |

5 pennies |

2 dimes |

backboard (puzzle box/board
game box) |
The Game
Place the front edge of basket 9 feet, 2
inches (110 inches) away from the throw line. The basket should be 5 inches
from the top of the basket rim to the floor. You can use a bowl or preferably
a basket that is 8.5 inches diameter.
The premise it to toss your Z tokens (coins)
into the basket without the Z tokens popping out of the basket. Silver Z tokens
(dimes) are worth 2 points, copper Z tokens (pennies) are worth 1 point.
To start the game a neutral judge flips a coin toss. The winner of coin
toss goes first. Player one throws all 7 coins, then player 2. The player
with the moist points wins the game. The first player to win 7 games wins
the match. You only have to win a match by one game. In cases of games
that are tied a playoff game must occur. Each player throws one copper
Z token. If player one scores, player 2 can retaliate. In cases of both
players scoring, a second playoff ensues and so-on. If a player 1 scores
all 9 points, the 2nd player can retaliate with a perfect 9, if they don't,
player one wins the match.
The loser of each game must consume 3 ounces
of American beer, the loser of a match must consume a full 9 ounces of
beer.
