October 6, 1975 in St. Charles, IL

What is the 1st thing you want to do when you get home from work or when you wake up on the weekends?

Home from work: play with dog

Weekends: read newspaper, drink large amounts of coffee.

Who would you like to pattern yourself after?

Peter from the movie Office Space comes to mind. Maybe Ernesto Guevara, but I’m not too confident in my jungle survival skills.

What is your favorite vacation spot?

I don’t take a lot of vacations, but probably somewhere where I’m not forced to do battle with my arch nemesis, Mr. Sun. My pasty epidermis is no match for his indefatigable brilliance.

If you could get paid the same amount of $ at your current job and do anything, what would it be?

I’d work in a bookstore.

If you found $200 in the trash and you had to spend it that day, what would you do with it?

I doubt that I’d touch it if it was in the trash. If I had a glove or a long-sleeve shirt to lift it out of the trash, I’d probably take some friends out to dinner, and then let the dirty waitress worry about where it’s been.

What kind of music you like the most and why?

I don’t know what to call genres anymore. Often times Tool or Rage Against the Machine or Trail of Dead. Other times Grandaddy or Elliot Smith. Other times Public Enemy or Wu-Tang. As with anyone, it just depends on my mood.

Who have you been most influenced by and why?

My grandfather. He was the measure of compassion, quiet dignity and humor. He understood his responsibility to his family and his community.

What makes you cry?

Dick Cheney’s smile.

What is your favorite town or state in the United States?

Chicago or Madison, WI.

What is your favorite sports team?

I guess I’ll default to the Cubs. Maybe the Illinois basketball team.

What do you usually eat for dinner?

Take-out items. Or leftovers.

The light stuff Italian, balsamic.

El Burrito Mexicano. Nachos, no sour cream.

Guinness, High Life. Gin tastes good.
