Hello. Dr. Odd here. I met Allie after I met her husband Matt at Focal, my employer. He got married to her cause she is really sweet. Well that is probably not the only reason but she is really sweet. She is always nice to be around and doesn't say bad things about people which is a great quality. I like hanging out with her. You can drop her a line here. Allie Batt

When were you born? Where?

November 4, 1974 Sioux Falls, South Dakota

What is the 1st thing you want to do when you get home from work or when you wake up on the weekends?

When I get home from work, I want to relax after my horribly long commute from Chicago to Lake Zurich. On the weekends, first thing would be having coffee.

Who would you like to pattern yourself after?

That's a tough one. There are lots of people, for many different reasons.

What is your favorite vacation spot?

Ideally, somewhere warm and tropical, but realistically either Matt's grandparents' place in northern Wisconsin or my parent's cabin outside Yellowstone, since those are the places where many of our best vacations have been.

If you could get paid the same amount of $ at your current job and do anything, what would it be?

Stay home and be a full time writer.

If you found $200 in the trash and you had to spend it that day, what would you do with it?

I'd probably buy shoes. Actually, I'd feel guilty and probably try to figure out who the money belonged to, and then I'd have to face more guilt over not giving it to some good cause instead of spending it on myself.

What kind of music you like the most and why?

I like all kinds of music. I don't really like one kind more than another, although I'm not a huge fan of country music, even though I had to listen to a lot of it growing up in South Dakota.

Who have you been most influenced by and why?

My Grandma Schmid. She was well-educated, especially for her generation and was one of the nicest people I've ever known.

What makes you cry?

Almost anything, seriously. The majority of commercials, any sappy story, the news, many tv shows, even when they aren't supposed to be really sad.

What is your favorite town or state in the United States?

Probably Chicago. I'm also partial to Sioux Falls, since I grew up there, but would not want to live there now.

What do you usually eat for dinner?

Pasta and veggies.

What is your favorite website?

I spend very little time on the internet other than to check my email, so probably Yahoo, since my email is often my only means of keeping in contact with people. Not very exciting, huh!

If you had to hear 1 album for the rest of your life what would it be?

Probably anything by the Indigo Girls or Paul Simon.

What do you do for $?

I'm an attorney.

What do you find attractive in the opposite sex?

All of the fine qualities you can observe in my lovely husband, Matt Batt.

Dogs or cats?

Cats, for now.

What is your favorite sports team?

Cubs (I don't have a choice)

You got any Tattoos?

Nope.

Do you use styling products in your hair?

No.

What is your favorite cartoon character?

I don't think I've ever had one.

Got any nick-names? What do they mean or how did you get them?

None other than Allie.

What is your salad dressing of choice?

Balsamic vinaigrette.

What is your favorite fast food place? What do you order there?

Any place that that serves onion rings.

What is your favorite booze beverage?

Red wine, mostly cabernet.

What is the one thing people say about you the most?

That my voice sounds extremely young. Telemarketers ask to speak to my parents when they call our house and when I make calls at work, they assume I'm the secretary or receptionist rather than the attorney on a case.

What do you think people say are some of your most virtuous qualities?

I'm always willing to volunteer to help.

What do you think people say are some of your vices?

That I don't believe things will be done right unless I do them myself.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

People who say they will call or get back to you and they don't.
