BEEFY LENTIL SOUP 

1 lb. ground chuck
1 cup dried lentils, rinsed
1 cup chopped carrots
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped onions
� cup chopped green pepper
Salt & pepper to taste
1 bay leaf 2 boullion cubes
1 can (46 oz.)tomato juice

Brown meat in large soup pot.Stir in remaining ingredients and 4 cups water.Cook until boiling, uncover and reduce heat to simmer; simmer 1&1/2 hours or until lentils are cooked.
