Detroit expecting QB to play despite rib injury
ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — Matthew Stafford took snaps and threw at practice as if it was just another day at work. It appears that his starting streak is safe. The Detroit Lions quarterback said he felt ”pretty good” Wednesday before going out on the field and looking healthy enough to participate as usual during the parts of practice open to reporters. He was able to finish practice with his injured ribs.
FF Today’s Take: Although Stafford has taken a few hits this year, he doesn’t appear to be in any danger of missing Detroit’s Week 3 date with the Broncos. Denver has given opposing quarterbacks fits as evidenced by their seven sacks in two games. The match up and chance of re-injury should be considered before plugging Stafford into your starting lineup on Sunday.
